GRANTSVILLE -- Cheryl Elaine ( Fisher ) Sweitzer , 46 , of 47 Beechwood Lane , Grantsville , died suddenly on April 8 , 2001 , at Memorial Hospital , Cumberland.

Mrs. Sweitzer was a substitute teacher with the Garrett County Board of Education and also volunteered with the handicapped at the Lodge at Sawmill Hollow. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Service Management from Indiana University of Pa.. She was secretary of Asher Glade Farmers and Wildlife Association and member of the Garrett County Horsemen's Association.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband , Ervin J. Sweitzer ; one son , Benjamin Sweitzer , at ; one brother , Vernon Fisher , Ellicott City ; and one sister , Angela Berlin , Sparta , N.J..
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes , P.A. , 179 Miller St. , Grantsville , on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m..
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William Durst officiating.
