SENECA -- Agnes W. Sweetland, 89, Seneca, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at a Seneca hospital.
Mrs. Sweetland had worked for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration in Seneca from 1934 to 1944, for the Pomona, Calif., Federal Building and Loan and the Wyoming State Soil Conservation department in Laramie, Wyo. She worked in medical records at the Seneca Hospital in the late 1960s and for the law offices of Harry Lanning and Bill Drumm, and then later for Richard Massieon in the 1970s.
She was born on May 27, 1913, on a farm west of Seneca, to Joseph and Mary Rethman Olberding. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Schools in Seneca.

Mrs. Sweetland was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society at the church. She served 13 years as chairwoman of the Nemaha County Chapter of the American Red Cross and eight years as chairwoman of the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was a member of the Nemaha Valley Hospital Guild, the Earl W. Taylor Post No. 21 of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Seneca Business and Professional Women's Club.
She married Lorin L. Sweetland on Oct. 29, 1938, at Falls City, Neb. He died on Oct. 5, 1999.
