Sweeten is principal of Sweeten Real Estate Co. in Branford.The Medallion Award recognizes Realtors who have excelled in their careers and in their long-term volunteer service to the Council of Residential Specialists.Sweeten has been in real estate since 1966 and earned her CRS designation in 1988.She has been a CRS regional vice president and a member of its board of directors, and was named Connecticut CRS of the Year in 1997.She also was named 1999 ,Member of the Year, by the Connecticut Women's Council of Realtors.

Sweeten was also chairman of "The Chapter with a Heart" programs for the state CRS, which raised more than $14,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation of Connecticut.

Among her awards, Sweeten received the NAR's Omega Tau Rho award for distinguished service.Before rejoining H. Pearce Co., she had been recognized as an industry leader and 100% Club Member by RE/Max International from 1990-1997.Sweeten said, "The H.
