Chad Sweet, a Clatsop County volunteer fireman and General Manager of the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach, Ore., has also taken a lead in developing a Connect & Protect community.Chad is very pleased with the performance of the Connect & Protect Tsunami service - and especially the warning he received June 14.His staff at the Surfsand Resort received the Connect & Protect tsunami warning via their PCs (alerted by its noticeable siren then onscreen data) before the warning went out to the community by other notification methods, including fire, police and area sirens."With Connect & Protect's time-critical warning, my staff was able to immediately begin evacuating guests, staff and local residents - and now know they can feel confident that they have a tsunami warning system that works when it is needed," said Chad.
