Union Bank of California has promoted Stender E. Sweeney II, to regional vice president and manager for the bank's West Los Angeles and South Bay corporate banking activities. In his new post he will report to Bita Ardalan, market president for the area.
Sweeney joined Union Bank in 1997 as an investment banking officer and was promoted to several positions within the communications, media and entertainment segment of the commercial financial services division.
He also worked in the private capital group and most recently served as vice president and marketing manager for the national banking group.
Prior to Union Bank, Sweeney served as an investment analyst for J.P. Morgan Investment Management in New York.
A native of Pasadena, he received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, and currently resides in Pasadena with his wife, Erin.
