  Karen K. Sweeney received her Bachelor of Science degree and PA Certificate from Gannon University , Erie , PA and her Masters of Health Science from Drexel University (Formerly MCPHahnemann University).She has worked clinically as a Physician Assistant for over 23 years in primary care medicine, psychiatry, women's health and community health.Ms. Sweeney has worked extensively in academia and has been principle investigator for numerous research projects.Additionally she has served on the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants' Board of Directors and as liaison to the State Board of Medicine.Ms. Sweeney is an active member of the AAPA and most recently served on the Government Affairs and Reimbursement Committee of the AAPA.She has authored 10 publications including a textbook chapter and various journal articles.She has 1 beautiful daughter of whom she is very proud.Ms. Sweeney has been involved in teaching Physician Assistants for over 12 years and currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at Philadelphia University . She continues to practice clinically in Emergency Psychiatry in Philadelphia .
