David Suratgar
David Suratgar served as Legal Advisor to the World Bank from 1965-1973.He was appointed Group Director of Morgan Grenfell & Co Limited in 1988 and Deputy Chairman in 1995.He was a Director of Morgan Grenfell & Co Limited responsible for Project Finance and International Advisory Services and Privatisation.He has carried out advisory assignments for the governments or agencies of Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Botswana, Guinea, Jamaica, Tinidad and Tobago, Zimbabwe, for the Bank of England and for the World Bank, the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the African Development Bank, the Commonwealth and the UK Know How Fund.He served as head of the Bank,s Latin America Department, and as a senior Director of the Emerging Markets Division.He has a continuing interest in the Middle East and Africa and in Latin America and has served recently as advisor on Latin America to the House of Commons Committee on Trade and Investment.He is a Director of the Banque Marocaine du Commerce Exterieur.From 1966-1972 he was Adjunt Professor of International Financial Law, Georgetown University School of Law and is visiting Professor of Law at the University of Georgia.He is currently consultant to the international law firm of Le Boeuf, Lamb, Green & MacRae.He is a member of the Board of the Major Projects Association, a member of the Council of the Royal Institute of International Affairs and a member of the UN council on Ageing.
