    Mei-Ting Sun, the brilliant young pianist who dazzled the judges of the Seventh National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami last year, will return to Miami on Sunday, April 9 at 4pm to present a solo recital at Gusman Concert Hall in Coral Gables.He will perform works by Grieg, Beethoven, Schubert and Chopin.

    Mr. Sun, a native of Shanghai, arrived in New York City at the age of nine and immediately was enrolled in the Professional Children,s School and the Mannes College of Music.He ultimately received his undergraduate and Master,s degrees from the Mannes College of Music and is currently a C.V.Starr Doctoral Fellow at the Juilliard School.

    When he was 15, the Village Voice newspaper named him one of the Musicians of the Year 1996.He has performed at numerous concert halls in New York, including Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and has received outstanding reviews.

    He has been featured several times on the WQXR Classical Radio program ,Young Artist Showcase, and on NPR,s Performance Today series.His recital tours have taken him to much of the United States and to Japan, China, France, Spain and Italy.His concerto engagements include appearances with the Richmond and Winnipeg Symphonies, Canada; the National Spanish Orchestra, the Macau Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
