Dr. Lu Sun received her Doctoral degree from Key Laboratory for Supramolecular Structure and Materials of Ministry of Education, Jilin University, China, in Physical Chemistry (2002-2005).Dr. Lu Sun joined Deakin in 2006.She is currently working on the ARC linkage project for "Optimising the UV Protection of Textiles with Zinc Oxide nano-materials".

Dr Lu Sun Dr Sun won the Smart Technology Award at the 2008 Researcher of the Year Awards for her work in Optimising the UV Protection of Textiles with Nano Zinc Oxide.Her research will lead to an improved understanding of the basic interactions between nano particles, colour and fibre.Lu Sun's project has been funded by the Australian Research Council and Micronisers P/L, under the supervision of Dr John Rippon, Dr Peter Cookson and Professor Xungai Wang.
