SOVEREIGN award-winning Kimchi, bred by Gary Strath of Stonyfield Farms in Souris, captured the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society's Manitoba-bred Horse-of-the-Year honours at the annual horsemen's awards banquet at Assiniboia Downs Saturday.

Kimchi, who captured the 2006 Sovereign Award for best three-year-old filly, won two legs of last year's Triple Tiara, the Canadian version of the Triple Crown for fillies.She is the second Manitoba-bred in two years to lead the three-year-old filly list.
