Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP announces the addition of Edward Stratemeier to the Intellectual Property and Technology Division.He has more than 30 years of legal experience including international transaction negotiation, corporate strategic planning and multi-million dollar litigation for various clients.

At Stinson Morrison Hecker, Stratemeier will focus his practice on consulting companies in, and associated with, the pharmaceutical industry on issues related to strategy and product life-cycle management.
Prior to joining Stinson Morrison Hecker, Stratemeier served 22 years at Aventis Pharmaceuticals, most recently as senior vice president of legal, government relations and policy.While there, he led a team of 40 lawyers in the United States, Canada and Europe in general commercial work, litigation, employment law, securities matters, business development transactions, compliance, privacy and FDA regulatory matters.
In the areas of government relations and policy at Aventis Pharmaceuticals, he led a team of lobbyists at the state and federal level identifying political trends and translating them into probable effects on the business and company.
Stratemeier graduated in 1971 from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree.In 1973, Stratemeier obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.He received an M.B.A. in organizational behavior and development in 1990 from Rockhurst University.He currently serves as interim general counsel for Biovail Corporation.In addition, he is a member of the American Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and served on the board of directors for the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform.
