   Janet Ann Strand passed away Wednesday, April 24th in Cloquet, Minn., at the age of 71, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
   
   Janet was born on Aug. 4, 1930 to Margaret and Joseph Franklin and grew up with her 13 brothers and sisters in Cloquet.

   During her 37 years of marriage Janet spent the majority of her time volunteering for school and church activities as a member of Queen of Peace Parish in Cloquet and St. Agnes Parish in Green Bay, Wis. Janet was passionate about caring for others and along with raising her family she enjoyed delivering meals to senior citizens through the Meals on Wheels Program. Janet was an active member in the St. Francis Circle, and former member of the Daughters of Isabella in Green Bay, Wis. Janet was also a strong advocate for the development of a Senior Center in Cloquet. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, visiting the casino, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
   
   She is survived by her loving husband, Nels Jr.; children, Cindiana King, Westminster, Md.; Arlene (Kurt) Woller, Green Bay, Wis.; James (Gabriela) Strand, Danville, Calif.; and Nels III (Danielle) Strand, Appleton, Wis.; grandchildren, Sarah, Kyle, and Juli King, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Anna Strand; and Vivian Woller. Janet was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her eighth grandchild to be born this November to James and Gabriela Strand.

   Janet was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Joseph Franklin; five brothers, Richard, Robert, William, Joseph and James; three sisters, Claribel Richter, Dorothy Harrah, and Caroline Lessor.
