    Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (with distinction) degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1967. After graduation, he joined Westinghouse Canada Inc., Graduate Training program in Hamilton, Ontario.

    From 1967 to 1981, Jim held a variety of positions in Westinghouse in industrial equipment design as a Design Engineer in Hamilton, in industrial and marine service in both Toronto, as a Field Service Engineer, and in Halifax, as Field Service Manager and Marine Services Manager. On his departure from Halifax, Jim was Branch Manager of Westinghouse's Industry and Marine Services facilities in Nova Scotia.

    In 1981, Jim moved to Calgary and joined Canadian Marine Drilling Ltd. (CANMAR), a subsidiary of Dome Petroleum Ltd., as a Senior Project Engineer. In that role, he was responsible for several aspects of Dome's rapidly expanding offshore exploration activities in the Canadian Arctic. He held several management positions and, on his departure from CANMAR in 1995, he was Manager of Engineering. The Engineering department consisted of a team of highly qualified specialists in several aspects of Arctic, marine and related technologies.

    Jim is presently DCMT's Vice President Operations responsible for day to day engineering activities for our Canadian Clients.
