When Heidi Strand went to college, she wanted to learn how to get people to work together more productively.
Little did she know at the time that she would eventually need that knowledge at home.

A self-starter at a young age, Heidi Strand attended the University of Minnesota and designed her own degree in organizational psychology and business management.
Shortly after graduating in 1995, she started with Kinko's in the Twin Cities, hiring for a number of the copy stores in the area and helping to design effective training programs for employees.
But home soon called to the Strands and they decided to move back to Oshkosh where she was born and where he still had a lot of family.
After successful stints as the downtown coordinator for the Oshkosh Commercial Development Corporation and marketing director for the Grand Opera House, Heidi Strand decided to start Blue Door Consulting in October of 2002.
With high aspirations and expectations for future growth, she envisions Blue Door as being a major consulting player locally and beyond.
"I think Blue Door should be a national company - we should be competing with East- and West- Coast firms," she said."There's so much talent in this community that's untapped. We'll start in our little corner of the world and we'll grow."
