Harold Strand began his musical endeavors playing the piano at page 6, accompaning his father who played the fiddle."Life of the Finnish Woods", their first song together, has been the family favority waltz ever since.A self-taught, accomplished musician, this over 65 year old Norwegian has been an accordionist since his father preseneted him with an accordion at age 16.

The Harold Strand Orchestra began playing at Toby's Place in West in 1968.In 1980, their engagements expanded to include entertainment for the monthly Crawford Polka Club dances in Crawford.The same year they also began providing ballroom music for the Stardust Dance Club in Waco.They continue to perform for the letter two dance clubs to this day.For the past eleven years, on Tuesday, Wednesnay, and Friday evenings, Harold Strand has provided dinner entertainment at Heitmiller's Steakhouse in Elm Mott, with David Hooten accompanying him on Fridays.
