Elliott Strait learned from his father about being a pharmacist, but it was his mother who taught him about health care.

"My mother was a great role model," he said."She was interested in healing people.She was a caregiver."

Strait, a 41-year-old son of a pharmacist, is the director of Chester County Hospital's pharmacy.He said he enjoys the helping side of his work.

"I enjoy providing a much-needed service in the health-care field.I make my contribution to people who are ill."

Strait said his job can be hard emotionally.

"Just seeing the illness and the pain and the suffering the family's going through -- that's the hardest part, knowing people aren't there because they want to be."

Despite the difficulties, Strait said he likes his workplace.

"We've got a family of employees at the pharmacy," he said.
