   GWAHS Director of Population Health, Planning and Performance, Ms Trish Strachan, said the development of HealthOne services will help GWAHS to provide fair and speedy access to health care.
   
   "They enable health professionals and services to be located together. A team approach keeps people well and out of hospital through early strategies to prevent ill health and ongoing care of people with chronic illness, " Ms Strachan said.
   
   She said the HealthOne initiative recognises the importance and effectiveness of health services working with other partners, such as General Practitioners or other health care providers, to provide a community with a health service most suited to its needs.
   
   A planning team with representation from GWAHS, the Dubbo Plains Division of General Practice, local General Practitioners, local service providers and community members will start detailed planning for the service at Gulgong. A team of consultants is being engaged by the NSW Department of Health to provide expert advice, where required
   
   "The Gulgong and Rylstone HealthOne centres will build on existing health services and be shaped by a clear understanding of the needs of the local communities, " Ms Strachan said.
