  The newly formed Judicial Elections Campaign Conduct Committee (JECCC), launched earlier this summer, is preparing to help candidates for Minnesota judgeships conduct campaigns that are "consistent with the dignity and integrity of the office they are seeking," according to David Stowman, a Detroit Lakes lawyer and former MSBA President who chairs the committee.
  
  "The independence, impartiality and integrity of our courts are of paramount importance to the administration of justice in our society," Stowman said.

  Update from MSBA Judicial Elections Campaign Conduct Committee (JECCC): Mr. Stowman, Chair of the JECCC, stated that their goal is to educate judicial candidates.The JECCC is trying to influence conduct of the candidates so that they act in a way that is consistent with the dignity of the office that they are seeking.Mr. Stowman is sending a letter to all judicial candidates (except those in the 2nd and 4th districts where separate campaign conduct committees exist) informing them of the JECCC and asking them to sign an affirmation regarding how they will conduct their campaign.
