Stoddard is a village in Vernon County, Wisconsin.It's nestled between the Majestic Bluffs and the Mighty Mississippi River.Stoddard is known for being a four season paradise and although Stoddard is small it has a lot to offer.
Through different seasons you can enjoy many different activities in Stoddard.In Winter, there is ice fishing, skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.In January, Ace Hardware of La Crosse, Badger Sportsman Club and the Stoddard Park Committee have an ice fishing tournament.The Chaseburg Snowtrailers have Trail Days, you can find trials on this day available from Chaseburg to Stoddard.Also, Mt. La Crosse is 5 miles north of Stoddard for all your skiing pleasures.

In 1887, Henry became postmaster and is said to have named the village in honor of Colonel Thomas B. Stoddard, first mayor of La Crosse in 1856, who helped the new community advance and expand.

Since then Stoddard has been thriving and doing quite well for its self, in 1967 a huge purchase of land for the Village Park was one of social importance for Stoddard.Since then the land has been landscaped and a shelter house and tennis courts have been built through the cooperation of the Village Organizations: the Stoddard Volunteer Fire Department, the Stoddard Lions Club, and the American Legion.
