Terry Stoddard - Head Coachemail
In his 8th season of coaching Swim Pasadena, Coach Terry W. Stoddard oversees the training of the Senior Groups for Swim Pasadena.
He is the original senior coach of the Swim Pasadena team.
After a heartfelt beginning with 23 charter members, Swim Pasadena came into existence on January 22, 1998.
With much hard work, perseverance and some faith his training groups as well as the team have grown.
The senior groups are primarily focused on the overall long term goal of the team which is embodied in the mantra that every athlete is given the opportunity to reach their full potential in senior swimming (timed based swimming) Although Coach Stoddard can and does coach at every level the senior groups are his fortes.
Coach Stoddard brings 29 years of experience coaching athletes at each and every level of senior swimming.

Before coming to Swim Pasadena, Coach Stoddard served as the head coach for AAF Rose Bowl Aquatics in Pasadena from 1992-98.
On the national and international level, Coach Stoddard was the Head Coach of the National Junior Team in 1999 and an assistant coach for the National Junior team in 1995.
He was an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's team at the Pan American Games in 1991.
Coach Stoddard has trained athletes who have competed in the 1996, 1992, 1988 and 1984 Olympic Games.
Several of his athletes attained world rankings in his 29 years of coaching.
Coach Stoddard served as an adviser for the Polish Olympic swim team, where he coached two Olympic medalists in Rafel Szukala (1992, Olympic Silver Medal, 100-Meter butterfly) and Artur Wojdat (1988, Olympic Bronze Medal, 400-freestyle).
Many of his athletes still hold team, school, conference, CIF, Southern California and Junior National records.
He has also coached athletes to American, World & Olympic Records in varied disciplines, including Breaststroke, Butterfly, IM & Sprint, Middle Distance and Distance Freestyle.
Before coming to the Pasadena area to work at the AAF Rose Bowl Aquatic Center he was a club coach in Mission Viejo for 14 years from 1978 to 1992, where he was Head Coach from 1985 to 1992.
Stoddard directed back-to-back U.S. National Team Championships for men and combined in 1986-87.
His Junior National teams won 14 team titles.
At the prep level, Stoddard was head coach at Buena High School (1977-78) and later a coach at Capistrano Valley High from 1978-85.
The Capistrano girls' team finished as CIF runner-up five times and the '81 team set a then national prep record in the 200-yard medley relay.
He directed seven individual CIF champions in his tenure there.
He also coached boys water polo at Capistrano Valley from 1978-80.

Sheri and Terry were married in November, 1976 while attending Eastern Kentucky University where both of them completed their Masters degrees in the 12 months after completing their BS degrees from Eastern Kentucky University in May, 1976.
