After living 28 years in Minnesota Betty and her husband Tom decided to move to Colorado.They had only been here once before, driving though in 1977 but thought it was beautiful.Betty and Tom decided to buy a business in Dillon and become restaurateurs.At that time, there were no "fast food" restaurants and the pizza business was pretty good.After a while though, traffic lights started popping up and more real estate was being purchased by the interstate which brought in the fast food chains and business took a dive.
They sold their little pizza place in 1991 and Betty went to work for Copper Mountain as a Ticket Seller/Foreman.She stayed with Copper for 9 years and worked her way up to be the Supervisor of Group Ticketing & Season Passes.Betty left the position as she needed a change from the hustle & bustle of the ski industry.She floated around with various positions, companies which eventually moved to Golden, Colorado so hence the reason for changing positions so often.
Betty saw a part time position offered by Intrawest in their Dillon Corporate office for an Accounts Payable Clerk/Payroll Assistant which she applied for and was fortunate to get.The job turned into being full-time just after 3 days and she eventually became the Payroll Administrator for Intrawest US Holdings.Betty processed payroll and handled benefits for over 130 people across the country.Unfortunately, this position also was relocated to Golden, Colorado and that forced her to change her career AGAIN!!
So, after another 26 years here and watching so much real estate pass hands, Betty thought she could sell real estate.She talked with a few of her realtor friends and decided this would be her new career.
