The Writing Workshops facilitated by Jo Stewart are but one expression of her desire to promote the visibility, contributions and value of older adults in the community at large.
By recognizing that folks today live about 35 years longer than they did at the turn of the 20th century when life expectancy was only 47 years, Jo Stewart is of the opinion that this almost whole "other life" is an opportunity for their continued gifts to be of benefit to the rest of society.

Since the year 2000, Jo has enjoyed the sponsorship of Mather LifeWays, an Evanston based not-for-profit organization and Swedish Covenant Hospital on Chicago's north side.Any organization that understands the importance of story telling can offer to sponsor a workshop.
