In many European and Asian countries, tankless water heaters far exceed tank-type units in market share, according to Frank Steibel, president of Stiebel Eltron, a tankless heater supplier in Holyoke, Mass., who said what's happening in the European and Asian markets is a good indication of what lies in store for the U.S. market.
