The meeting venue in Phnom Penh, Cambodia also gave CAPPI officials and its sponsoring partner KAF's Asian Media Project Director Thomas Stehling, the opportunity to interact with over 30 Cambodian editors and journalists.Cambodian press representatives were given the chance to study different organizational structures and directions of various press institutes in the region.
A significant breakthrough is the partnership forged by funding agencies KAF and UNESCO in the development of journalism in Cambodia.UNESCO representative Wijayananda Jayaweera had extended his invitation to KAF's Asian Media Project to utilize the existing facilities of UNESCO-funded Cambodian Communication Institute (CCI) in Phnom Penh for KAF future training seminars.
At the same time, Stehling noted, "no donor institution can do everything.We need an exchange of ideas.Cooperating with other agencies like UNESCO for common goals of training journalists maximizes resources for optimum results.
Stehling also pledged to CAPPI its continuing support in the training of trainers and journalist and setting up of training schools such as the recently establishment of the Konrad Adenauer Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and the planned KAF Journalism School at the Hong Kong University in China.

Thomas Bernd Stehling, Asian Media Project director reiterated KAF's commitment to provide training support for journalists as Cambodia enters this challenging crossroad in its history.
The Cambodian print media is lead by Rasmei Kampuchea, the largest Cambodian daily newspaper, The Cambodia Daily, leading English daily and Popular Magazine.
Other media organizations represented were Momakseka Khmer, Chakrarwal News, Evening News, Sereipheap Newspaper, Khmer News, Domnoeung Thmei, Khmer Amatak News, Snehacheat News, Sankrous Cheat, Indradevi Magazine, Liberty News, The Sakarach Thmei News, Oudam Katek Khmer, Prolaeung Cheat, Sun newspapers, Chalanathei newspaer, Kolthida Magazine, B&W Newspaper, The Voice of Khmer Youth.Non-governmental organizations like the Women's Media Centre and International news agencies Associated Press, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Reuters are participated.
The editors and journalists, mostly in their 40s, expressed a strong desire to form a press organization.
