James began his career as an Army Biomedical technician in 1983. After being honorably discharged from the Army he worked as an in-house Biomedical Technician at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1988, he went to work for G.E. Medical Systems where he serviced X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound systems. G.E. transferred him to Anchorage in 1990 where he was team leader for the Alaska office. In 1999, he left G.E. Medical Systems to start his own business, MEDTEC Inc. In 2001, MEDTEC merged with ADI.
James is married to Patti. He has two sons, Justin and Brian and two stepdaughters Kelcie and Taryn. Outside of work he spends his time fishing, skiing, diving and enjoying the great outdoors of Alaska. -
