Born in Boston, Mrs. Stefans was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and also graduated from Boston Teachers College in 1934 with a master's degree in education.

She was a math teacher in the city of Boston schools.

Mrs. Stefans retired to Centerville and was the historian for the Polish Society of Cape Cod and the Islands.She was also active in Our Lady of Victory parish.

She loved music, art, sewing and history.

Surviving are a daughter, Valerie Thomas of Plymouth; a son, Joseph Stefans of Emmaus, Pa.; a sister, Connie Herman of Dedham; and eight grandchildren.
