  Jim Steele has served as jazz host on WFDD since 1989, starting as a volunteer.He began his career in radio as an undergraduate at Wake Forest University.Shortly after graduation he worked as a news reporter in commercial radio, but continued to support public radio as a volunteer and listener-member.He works full-time at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center as a public relations manager.In his spare time, Jim teaches a course in radio production at Winston-Salem State University and serves on various non-profit boards.
  
  Jim Steele is the host of JazzPlace, airing Friday nights from 8 to 11 on 88.5 WFDD.
