Stauffer resigns Sachse seat

SACHSE - City Councilman Scott Stauffer resigned his place 2 seat last week.
"I resigned my position due to a career location move that was beneficial for my wife and I since we are both working in Dallas," he said."I lived in Sachse for a total of nine years and it was a great experience."
Stauffer is vice president and CFO of Datalink Bankcard Services and was serving his second term on the council.
During the Nov. 15 council meeting city officials and councilmembers will discuss a special election to fill his unexpired term.
"Scott was always so involved in the community," Mayor Mike Felix said.

Stauffer was a cum laude graduate with a bachelor of business administration degree in public relations from the University of North Texas in Denton.He has completed graduate level studies in business and educational administration at St. Mary's University and UNT.
"I enjoyed my time on the council immensely and it was very gratifying to be able to make a contribution during the city's defining growth years," he said."It was such a pleasure to serve with other citizens who are so dedicated to the council and to the city.You start out as peers, but you evolve into friends.That's something I will truly miss."
Stauffer is a past president of the board of directors for the Sachse Chamber of Commerce and past Fallfest chairman.
He has served on the board of directors for the Sachse Economic Development Corporation, Sachse Communications Committee and was a Fallfest games volunteer.
"Scott was a great chamber president and a great councilmember," Councilman Charles Smith said."He is blessed with excellent decision making capability.'
Stauffer attends Unity Church in Dallas with his wife, Stephanie, and was the city council liaison to the Wylie Independent School District and the Sachse Animal Shelter Advisory Board.
"I think Sachse embodies everything that is great about a small town as it has such a unique atmosphere and the people are so friendly," he said.
