The Oil Group of Companies announced Robert D. Stauffer will be joining the company as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Jack Wesley who is retiring at the end of August.

Mr. Stauffer has been a director of both OIL and OCIL since 1986, he has served on the executive committee for OIL and OCIL since 1992, and held the position of OCIL chairman from 1998 to 2000, chairman of OIL from 2000 to 2003.He joins the Oil Group from Kerr-McGee Corporation, where he held the position of vice president - Risk Management & Real Estate Operations, and president - Bermuda Captive Insurance Subsidiary for the past eight years. He previously worked 17 years for Maxus Energy Corporation (formerly Diamond Shamrock Corporation) as director - Corporate Insurance and assistant secretary and also as president - Bermuda Captive Insurance Subsidiary.Mr. Stauffer holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, and an M.B.A., both earned from Shippensburg University, in Pennsylvania.
