  Stauffer joins Oil from Kerr-McGee Corporation, a chemical and energy company, where he was v.p. of the risk management and real-estate operations and president of the company's Bermuda captive insurance subsidiary for the past eight years.Before that, he worked for 17 years at Maxus Energy Corporation as assistant secretary and director of corporate insurance, and also president of the firm's Bermuda captive subsidiary.
  
  Stauffer has a long-standing association with the Oil Group.He has served on Oil Insurance's and Oil Casualty Insurance's boards of directors since 1986 and their executive committees since 1992.He was also chairman of Oil Casualty's board of directors between 1998 and 2000, and of Oil Insurance's board between 2000 and 2003.
