Marilyn Stackhouse has more than 20 years of experience in advertising, media relations, special events, and promotional campaign management.She has worked with a broad range of organizations including the YWCA, National Marrow Donor Program, Family and Child Services of Washington, D.C., the American Liver Foundation, the National Fair Housing Alliance, and several government agencies.
Prior to working as a public relations consultant, Ms. Stackhouse was Director of Corporate Communications for the MAXIMA Corporation.There she developed and directed communications strategies for MAXIMA's 46 offices and sites around the country and the company's advertising placement.She and the MAXIMA staff were featured on an ABC-TV nationally aired documentary on African-American businesses in America.
Before joining the MAXIMA Corporation, she was Assistant Director of Public Affairs and Marketing at the District of Columbia General Hospital where she was responsible for the marketing, publications, graphic design and media relations functions of the hospital.
Ms. Stackhouse started her career marketing social food programs for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service.She performed advance work for the Secretary of Agriculture, in addition to traveling throughout the United States to write about the effectiveness of programs such as the food stamp, school lunch and supplemental food programs for the Food and Nutrition Service.
She holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in Communications from Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina.
