The Kinston Indians will honor two-time NBA All-Star and Kinston native Jerry Stackhouse at Grainger Stadium on July 7, K-Tribe general manager Shari Massengill said Thursday.
...
Stackhouse will throw out the first pitch before the Indians' game against the Frederick Keys and be available for autographs, Massengill said.

"Jerry means so much to Kinston and still continues to give back to the community.
He is as excited as we are about coming to historic Grainger Stadium."
Stackhouse, who has been limited to 10 games by a heel injury this season, founded the Triple Threat Foundation in 2002 to fight diabetes.
He lost two sisters to the disease, and both of his parents are living with it, according to his official Web site.

Stackhouse, 34, has averaged 18.4 points per game for four teams in a 14-year NBA career.
