With the game being played mainly in the Deaconsfield half, the Warner goalkeeper, Martin Southall, had very little to do.

To their credit EAOB did try and get the ball into the Warner box and on a couple of times did force Martin Southall to make good saves, one from an in swinging free kick that a Warner defender ducked out of the way of, requiring Martin to fling himself across the goal and tip the ball onto the post and was hastily cleared, but a generally, lacklustre first half came to a quite end.
