With the game being played mainly in the Deaconsfield half, the Warner goalkeeper, Martin Southall, had very little to do.
    ...
And with Mangrove always dangerous on the counter break, the Warner goal was well defended by Martin Southall and his back line of Joe McClymont, Dave Coomes and Captain for the day, Rob Djemal.
    ...

Martin Southall in goal, only had two or three half chance saves to make in the first half, but Warner were constantly threatening the Parklands goal, and you could feel that it was only a matter of time before Warner would score.
    ...
Parklands only had one real chance, a long hopeful through ball chased by their quick forward who just managed to knock it past Martin Southall who had come charging out of his penalty area, only for him to slice his shot at the open goal off for a goal kick which just missed the corner flag!!!
    ...
Warner still had to be alert at the back as on three or four occasions a long panicky clearance was chased by their forwards who tested Martin Southall in goal but all held firm.
    ...
As Southall was going for it, a foot from a defender knocked it out towards the edge of the box for an unmarked Parklands forward to knock it into the empty net.2-0.
    ...
EAOB then came out and attacked with more conviction, and with twenty minutes on the clock a corner was awarded to EAOB and as the ball came over no Warner player wanted to jump for the ball and as Martin Southall in goal punched at the ball, an EAOB player came hurtling through the group and headed it into the net to equalise.
    ...
With manager Ken Benbow still on compassionate leave, Andy Smith and Martin were looking after the team, and at half time all the players were told that EAOB were getting everything, in the air and on the ground, and this had to stop.
    ...
A nasty collision by an EAOB forward and Martin in goal worried everyone on the sidelines as he stayed on the ground for some time, after some lengthy treatment for a kick to the head he was helped to his feet, still suffering from blurred vision but with no sub keeper on the bench, he volunteered to carry on.
    ...
Assistant Manager, Martin Southall said, 'It was a good performance but we did start slowly, we only started to take control of the game ten minutes before half time, fortunately after the half time chat in the changing rooms things improved for the second half.
