Jim Soules

The city has hired Jim Soules, former chief in the Central Oregon communities of Prineville and Warm Springs, to serve as interim chief here.Now retired, he is not a candidate for permanent appointment to the post.

Though he spent the majority of his career as police chief in Prineville, Soules spent 3 1/2 years with the McMinnville Police Department in the 1970s.He earned his sergeant's stripes during that stint.
