Sobol signs with NKU

Clay High senior pitcher Mike Sobol will continue his baseball career next season at Northern Kentucky University, a NCAA D-II school in Highland Heights, Ky.

The left-hander has accumulated a three-year mark of 13-8 with nine saves.

A first-team all Northern Indiana Conference selection as a sophomore, Sobol also pitched the past two summers for the Indiana Bulls and had a record of 10-4.

Juniors honored for their accomplishments were pitcher Mike Sobol and outfielder Josh Willis of Clay, along with St. Joseph's catcher John Smolinski.
