  BERNARD SOBEL Bernard Sobel has been the Artistic Director of the Théâtre de Gennevilliers since 1963 and editor of the review Théâtre/Public.The Ensemble Théâtral de Gennevilliers progressively received funding from the French Ministry of Culture and became Centre Dramatique National in 1982.The Théâtre de Gennevilliers seeks to reinvent the relation between theatrical production and the local communities in order to break the barriers that exist in the social network and that separate reality in spheres of distinguished activities.It produces new or unknown texts as well as works of classical repertoire for a large audience in a wide performance space and devotes a space to experimentation.Sobel also worked six years at the Berliner Ensemble and translated German plays.He directed and filmed operas and plays for the French and German stages and televisions.
