Zach Smitley of McMillen told council that phase two has been broken down into two parts. The first part, according to Smitley, includes demolishing the existing tennis court and replacing it with two basketball courts.
In addition, drainage will be added beneath the court and new playground equipment will be added. The ground surrounding the play area will also be mulched for safety reasons.
Also included in the first part of phase two are extensions of the walking trail to areas in the park, added security lights and the installation of a handrail on steps near the parking area, Smitley said.
Money leftover after the first part of work has been completed will be put toward the second part of phase two, which includes replacing the roofs on the pavilions and purchasing new picnic tables.Smitley said plans also call for minor repairs to the walking trail and possible landscaping, depending on the amount of money leftover.
