Upper School Principal Dr. Scottie Smith teaches as a member of the science faculty on the Knowlton Campus. In July, she will be speaking at the Advanced Placement Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Her presentation, "Genetically Modified Organisms: Ethical Considerations and Scientific Concerns, " addressed the economic, environmental and ethical impact of creating transgenic organisms. This year, Dr. Smith will be an AP Environmental Science exam reader in Lincoln, Nebraska. This will be her tenth year reading exams; College Board asks educators to assist in the review and scoring of advanced placement response sections of the AP exams.
