ST. LOUIS, May 8, 2003 - Scott S. Smith has joined Evans & Dixon, L.L.C. as an associate in its Workers' Compensation Practice.He is based in the firm's St. Louis office.As an associate, Smith represents major insurance carriers and self-insured employers from a variety of industries in workers' compensation and employers' liability cases. Smith's experience includes working in the litigation department for the Missouri attorney general's office, where he conducted sworn statements of witnesses and prepared direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.Previously, Smith served as a law clerk at Ford, Parshall & Baker, L.L.C., in Columbia, Mo.His responsibilities included conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. Smith holds a doctorate of law and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Environmental Law and Policy Review.
