Private services will be conducted for Lillian G. Smith of Grass Valley.

Mrs. Smith died Friday, July 12, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.She was 77.

She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Glendale to Frank Winton and Flora Lynn.She graduated from Glendale High School.She married Alvin "Bud" Smith on Feb. 9, 1942, in Reno.She was a bookkeeper at Hansen Brothers and Sears in Grass Valley.She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alvin "Bud" Smith of Grass Valley; daughter, Gail Bolton of Grass Valley; sons Marty Smith of Arnold, Dean Smith of Helena, Mont., and Neil Smith of Colfax; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Sacramento.
