Joy L. Smith joined the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) in Fall 2003 as the Retention Counselor for The WellsLink Program.In her position, she plays an integral role by providing academic support for the 30+ students that participate in The WellsLink Program.A native of Irvington, NJ, Joy is also a graduate of Syracuse University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in, both, Psychology and African American Studies (College of Arts & Sciences).Currently, she is pursuing a Masters' Degree in the Cultural Foundations of Education program.

In addition to her duties in OMA, she also works with a number of student organizations on campus.
