Non-Executive Chairman , Graham Smith
Graham qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and in 1981 he founded Goldsborough Healthcare Limited, which was acquired by Kunick plc in 1985.In 1991 he became Chief Executive of Kunick and went on to lead a management buy out of Goldsborough.The business was expanded through acquisitions and organic growth and, in 1994, was floated on the London Stock Exchange.In 1997 BUPA plc acquired Goldsborough as a platform to expand into long term care.Under Graham's leadership the enlarged business, BUPA Care Services Limited, was rapidly expanded to become the leading provider of long term nursing care in the UK with over 30,000 employees.In the last four years, Graham has been a Non Executive Director of four businesses that were sold for £1bn and is currently Non Executive Director of three other private equity funded businesses.
