Earlier TSN chief George Smith conceded defeat in his bid to organise the rival tour next season.

Smith said : WPBSA have clearly indicated that they would proceed with a split tour.

A split in the present structure is the worst possible scenario , and in consultation with the players we have repeatedly expressed the view that a split tour is not in the best interests of the sport.

While still holding the view that the TSN tour offers greater choice for players , we have always believed that the players' interests should be of paramount importance and we will not jeopardise these interests..

But he added : We shall nevertheless be continuing with our challenge in the High Court for a declaration that the WPBSA monopoly position is an unfair restraint of trade , both on our company , and on the players.
