George Smith, president of the Epilepsy Foundation of New York City, said that his group deals with people who can't afford drugs and that the pharmaceutical companies "have really done quite a bit to ease the situation" by offering discounted or free medications.But of the new plan, Smith said, "The patient still has to pay something, and a lot of people can't pay."

George has been quite busy for the past 32 years, devoting his time and energies as president of the Epilepsy Foundation of New York City.Now that he has retired he's looking forward to spending even more time with his four grandchildren, and getting more involved at Christ Church .

George has always had a deep interest in historical architecture and restoration, and as a member of our Vestry, is hoping to get more involved in our ongoing and future restoration projects.He is anxious to share his extensive experience in grant development to help us secure the funding that we need to support our current programs, and also, the important and necessary improvements that need to be addressed in the very near future.
