Elmeter Jackson Griffin Smith, 91, a private-duty practical nurse in the Washington area from the 1950s to early 1990s, died Dec. 5 at her home in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington. She had dementia.
Mrs. Smith spent most of her time working for the Washington family of Dr. Marianne Schuelein and Ralph M. Krause and their two children.
She was a native of Gadsden, S.C., and came to the Washington area after high school. She was a restaurant cook.
