   He has worked as a banker in the Opelika-Auburn area since 1979 and is currently serving as President of the Auburn Bank's Opelika branch.He has been recognized as leader in the banking industry, serving as a former President of the East Alabama Institute of Banking.Organizations
   
   In addition to a successful career as a banker, Eddie Smith has 25 years of demonstrated community leadership to Opelika and Lee County.He served as President of the Opelika High School All Sports Booster Club, as the Co-Chair of Envision Opelika, and served on the Boards of the Opelika Arts Association and the Achievement Center Foundation, Inc.In addition Smith has also served as Past President of the Opelika Jaycees, Opelika Kiwanis Club, and the United Way of Lee County as well as Board Chairman for the Opelika Chamber of Commerce, the Achievement Center Board of Directors, and on the Boards of Camp ASSCA and Opelika Dixie Youth Baseball.For 20 years Smith served as the treasurer for the Lee County Youth Development Center.
