"Many people attending part-time MBA courses at night have to waste time commuting to school and it takes at least two and a half years to finish the course," said Donald N. Smith, president of the new school and former vice dean of Harvard Law School. Mr. Smith said the college's convenient location would make it easier for businesspeople to attend, and the course should take no longer than a year and a half to complete. In partnership with the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences, the Helsinki School of Economics will offer an executive MBA course and the State University of New York will offer a master's course in science and technology management. The program is scheduled to officially begin in 2009, following a trial period that starts next year. In the fourth of the course's five terms, students are required to spend two to three weeks in Helsinki or New York. Lecturers will include Mr. Smith, former GE Korea Chief Executive Kang Suk-jean, and Yuhan-Kimberly President Moon Kook-hyun, according to the Seoul School.
