Dee: The first two days of racing put us through all our paces in all sorts of weather conditions: thunderstorms with high winds, patches of great wind - then lighter air.Got lots of experience setting, trimming, dousing the spinnaker.

Dee Smith - Dee's first experience sailing was in Charleston harbor many moons ago while a student at the College of Charleston.Years later, Dee took an introductory sailing class through C of C and decided sailing was for her.Wanting to further her training, Dee took OSA's Basic Keelboat course a little over a year ago and plans to take more advanced OSA courses following the C2B.Dee currently is a member of the College's Sailing Association.When not sailing, Dee is a computer security analyst at WareOnEarth Communications.Dee's job takes her to many locations throughout the U.S. One trip landed her in Monterey, CA, where she was lucky enough to sail a J24 for an entire weekend, dodging harbor seals and spotting a few sea otters and sharks for the first time ever.Dee is focused on expanding her sailing skills with the upcoming race and looks forward to her first blue water passage to Bermuda.
