   Dean Smith practices primarily in the areas of health care, civil litigation and administrative law. He is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California.
   
   Practice Experience
   
   Mr. Smith has had substantial civil trial experience, including 15 jury trials (12 defense verdicts), and he has also handled dozens of binding and non-binding arbitration hearings. Mr. Smith has also been actively involved in the successful defense of physicians and other licensed professionals in administrative hearings before various licensing boards in California, including the Medical Board, the Osteopathic Medical Board, the Nursing Board and others. Mr. Smith has also successfully represented both physicians and medical staffs in hospital peer review proceedings, and he has participated in the defense of physicians and medical groups in connection with investigations and audits conducted by Medicare and Medi-Cal."
