Daryl Smith (IT Services - University AV Coordinator)
Daryl originally joined the LaTiS FDL on to coordinate the provision of the University's Audio Visual facilities.
His academic interests are cognitive science based and include the human-machine interface, artificial intelligence, and the social implications of computers and the Internet. He is currently researching privacy issues, copyright legislation and Internet security. He also has an ongoing interest in the application of formal reasoning systems to contentious social issues, especially those involving prejudice.
Daryl joined the Pallas team in 1997 after graduating in Cognitive Science here at Exeter. He has worked elsewhere in the University since 1995 including a fourteen month contract in the External Relations Division in Northcote House.
