Slechten joined Euroclear in 1985 in the new issues department and took on increased managerial responsibilities within various operational departments over the years to become managing director and head of the custody and information services division and a member of the Euroclear group management team in 1996. He also spent four years as head of the product management division until 2006, when he was appointed CEO of Euroclear France. In February 2009, Slechten became the first CEO of the Belgian, Dutch and French CSDs, which are currently served by a single transaction-processing platform known as Euroclear Settlement of Euronext-zone Securities (ESES).

Pierre Slechten, currently Chief Executive Officer of Euroclear France, will become Chief Executive Officer of the three ESES-market CSDs.

Pierre Slechten. Different local management teams will continue to exist at each of the three CSDs, headed by the same Chief Executive Officer, Pierre Slechten. An 'ESES Coordination College', comprising a cross-section of local CSD management team members, will be created to assess cross-market issues and coordinate decision-making by each local management team. Pierre Slechten will also serve as Chairman of the College.

Pierre Slechten, currently managing director and head of the product management division at Euroclear SA/NV, will become the new chief executive officer of Euroclear France.He is already a Euroclear France board member.Pierre Yves Goemans, currently director of marketing and sales support in Euroclear's commercial division, will replace Slechten.
